Browse our history at Fairfield Township

Volunteer Fire Company #1.

We have provided emergency services to the area since 1954.  We started service with one fire truck stored at a local residence and responding to calls via a phone chain alert system.  Over the years we have increased our fleet of emergency apparatus.  The original 1972 fire station was lost to a fire in 2009.  In 2010 we broke ground for a new fire station and social hall.  While there were many obstacles to overcome in the building process, with the help of the community and four large foundation grants, we completed the social hall in 2016 and the fire station in 2019.  The new fire facility is dedicated to the men and women providing emergency services to Fairfield Township.
